Linhares da Beira

Gastronomy
On the slopes of the Serra da Estrela, Folgosinho is known for its traditional mountain cooking.
Central to its cuisine is Queijo da Serra, a cheese with a strong flavor and buttery texture, often served with rye bread baked in a wood-fired oven.
Main dishes often consist of oven-baked lamb and kid goat, which are raised on local pastures. The area also produces a variety of traditional sausages. Local desserts include curd cheese with pumpkin jam and custard. The meals are prepared with locally grown vegetables and fruits.
The regional Dão wine, produced on nearby slopes, is a common accompaniment to the food.
