Poco do Inferno, as its name suggests, is a deep pool or small lagoon nestled in the heart of Serra da Estrela. Situated at an altitude of 1080 meters, it’s formed by a 10-meter waterfall originating from the Leandres stream. This geosite, part of the Estrela Geopark, showcases the region’s geological marvels, including granite mantles and metamorphic rock formations. In harsh winters, its waters freeze, adding to its allure.
